Even though many deer are big, moose are the largest deer alive. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why are moose the largest deer alive?

The reason why moose are the largest deer alive is because of the size they are meant to go into. They can be up to 6 feet tall.

2. Moose can swim.

Did you know moose can swim?

Even though moose are heavy, moose can swim. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why can moose swim?

The reason moose can swim is because of their strong legs. These legs are super strong so the moose can swim and even swim far, up to 10 miles.

3. Adult moose are apex vegetarians.

Even though many deer are strong, moose are apex vegetarians. Isn’t that overwhelming.

Now, why are moose apex vegetarians?

The reason why moose are apex vegetarians is because of their sheer strength and size. Their legs are strong enough to defend the moose and are very big. However young moose can be eaten by bears, foxes or grey wolves.

Even though some deer can see colors, moose are color blind. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why are moose color blind?

The reason why moose are color blind is because of a shortage of cones(a type of photoreceptor cell in the retina that makes us see colors).

5. Moose eat terrestrial and aquatic vegetation.

Did you know that moose eat terrestrial and aquatic vegetation?

Even though deer eat terrestrial(land) plants, moose eat terrestrial and aquatic(water) vegetation. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why do moose eat terrestrial and aquatic vegetation?

The reason is that aquatic plants contains high sodium content which is good for them and terrestrial ones are good too.

Even though many deer are social, moose are solitary. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why are moose solitary?

The reason is that a moose has enough strength to defend itself alone but will meet only for mating.

7. Moose are not always aggressive!

Even though moose are thought to be aggressive, moose are not always aggressive! Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why aren’t moose always aggressive?

The reason why is that as deer, they tend to be calm creatures and will only attack when harrassed or provoked.

8. A baby moose can run at speeds of 30 miles per hour!

Did you know that a baby moose can run at 30 miles per hour?

Even though deer are fast, a baby moose can run at speeds of 30 miles per hour. Isn’t that amazing?

Now, why can baby moose run at 30 miles per hour?

The reason why is that their front legs are longer than the back ones and this make them get speed quickly.
