The reason why is because of the size their gene inhabiting growth allows them to get to. They are 5 feet tall, 8 feet long and have a weight of 550 kilograms.

They graze native grasses helping other animals like prarie dogs to eat grass and also their dropping fertilize the soil. Also they can serve as prey important to massive predators such as grizzly bears. So whereever you meet an elk the ecosystem is healthy.

They use it to attract females and his loud sound is also used to make aware other elk of their territories in the wintertime, and has a fundamental frequency of 2 kilohertz and higher (as a point of reference, a human child averages 0.3 kilohertz).
